Theme Installation

CoverNews Pro is a new theme so you install it by uploading the theme zip to WordPress (Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme). You won’t lose any of your content (posts, pages, etc) when you activate it.

Step 1: Collect the Pro .zip file & license key

After completing the purchase, Log in to your AF themes Account
Click on View from there you can download it and also collect the Licence key

Step 2: Installing CoverNews Pro

Go to Appearance -> Themes -> Add New
From the top, click on Upload Theme

File Upload Size:
Be sure to check PHP upload_max_filesize and post_max_size is 32M or higher. If you are running shared web hosting you should contact your web hosting service provider to find more information about that. If you are running an unmanaged dedicated server or VPS you should check your php.ini file. Alternatively, you can edit the .htaccess file at the root of your website and add the following values:

php_value post_max_size 32M
php_value upload_max_filesize 32M

Setting these values will ensure you won’t get an error reporting that your upload and post memory limit is too low.
Alternatively, you can also upload theme files using FTP/SFTP file server tool or directly from the cPanel or file manager dashboard provided by your file hosting provider.

 
Choose the ZIP file you’ve downloaded & Click Install Now
Click on Activate to activate the theme

Step 3: Activating your license

Go to your website & log in
Go to Appearance -> Theme License
Paste your theme license key into the License Key field
Click on Save Changes

Via AF themes Site

1. Download Covernews Pro via, https://afthemes.com/products/covernews-pro/
2. Go to your WordPress website dashboard
3. Go to Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload and select the Zip file you recently downloaded.
4. Click on Install and Activate it.

FTP Installation

1. Use your FTP software to browse to the wp-content/themes folder.
2. Extract covernews-pro.zip and upload the folder.
3. Once it’s uploaded, go to your WordPress Admin, and browse to Appearance > Themes.
4. Click the Activate link.

Info: Without activating your license, you will not receive any updates on CoverNews Pro

Covernews Recommended Plugins

All the above-listed plugins are recommended on the WordPress dashboard after activating the theme. You can simply install them from there. See the below video to learn more about installing plugins.

Importing Gutenberg Patterns and Template

The Hybridnews Theme uses the Template page of Blockspare as the Homepage. To set up the pages in Covernews Theme you need to follow the steps below:

Install and Active blockspare plugin first

then,

create a page > Edit it > Click on the + sign > Click on the pattern > You can find covernews > You can find a full page layout > Click to import >  Set the page template as blockspare full width > then set the page as homepage

Covernews Pro Theme Offers Two different Homepage Options

1. Your Latest Posts
2. A Static Page

1. Your Latest Posts

The theme Default mode is Your Latest Posts where Admin posts are displayed in List Layout which the admin could customize from the steps below:

Appearance > Customizer > Theme Option > Archive Setting

where, the admin could change the Layouts, Content View, and Pagination

2. Create a Page for the Home and Blog( Static Front Page )
At first, need to create two pages, one for Home Page and another for the Blog page.

• Go to admin panel > Pages > Add New
• Give the title of the page (Example: Home Page)
• Then set the page Template to the Front-page Template
• Click on Publish to publish the page.
• Create another page (for the Blog)
• Go to admin panel > Settings > Reading
• Click on “A static page (select below)”
• Set Front page: (Home Page recently created above)
• Posts page:(Blog you recently created)
• After that admin could add the widgets to the widgets section of the frontpage provided by the Theme

Or,

• Go to Appearance then Click on the Customizer
• Click on the Homepage Setting Option
• Select A Static Page
• Create A Homepage and A Post Page
• Go to the Page edit Home Page and set the homepage Template to Front-page Template
• Then, You could go to the Widgets section of the customizer where you could add the widgets at the Frontpage Area

You can always use the support forum in case you faced any problems while installing the theme.

How to add Pages/Posts?

It is easy to add a post and page in WordPress.

1. Go to Admin Panel
2. Go to Pages/Posts > Add New
3. Give the Title of the Page
4. Write the Content of the Page
5. Scroll down and see the right corner, you will find the Set Featured Image section

Covernews Pro Single Posts

All posts could be customized either Individually or Globally from the Theme Customizer Option

Individual: Dashboard > Posts> Edit Post > Admin could get an option of editing the Content Layout and Alignment

Globally: Dashboard > Appearance > Customizer > Theme Option > Single Post (Image display and content layout can be changed.)

Note: If you are not familiar with the new WordPress editor Gutenberg, you can easily disable it and enable the classic editor.

How to Import Dummy Data?

Importing the demo data is easy in Covernews News and Magazine Responsive WordPress theme.

1. Download AF Companion Plugin recommend by the theme
2. After installing the plugin, Click Activate button
3. Open AF Companion which appears in your Dashboard.
4. Then, Click on the Import Option of the Demo

Note: If your website has genuine content already, it is not recommended to import the dummy data. Make sure, you are building a new website from scratch before importing the dummy data.

A Trip to Customizer

1. Site Identify

• Site title with tagline can be added with logo
• Color and Font size could be customized

2. Color

You can find a number of color options inside Customize> Color panel

3. Header Image

• Header images can be placed with the control of image overlay transparency and size with random header images

4. Background Image

• Background Image could be changed
• The size of the image can be managed
• Scroll With page option
• Container Padding option

5. Menu

You could follow the below steps to add a menu:

Step 1: Go to the customizer option of the Appearance

Step 2: Click on the menu and create a menu and select the option below the menu

Step 3: Then click on Add item and add a custom link, page categories you want 

6. Frontpage Option

• Advertisements Area: Your promotional banners can be easily displayed within your header section.
• Banner Layouts: There are 3  different layouts each containing different orders
• Ticker News: Above the Main Banner section, number of posts can be displayed based on the category.
• Frontpage Option: Frontpage layouts with Feature Post can be customized

8. Theme Option

• Preloader Options: The loader that appears below loading the site can be enabled and disabled
• Global Layout Options: Global content alignment with widgets excerpt.Image Lazy loading option and Date and Author
• Font & Typography: Font Family with Font size of Post Title, Section Title, General, and others can be changed
• Header Options:
  • Header layout: The Side, Center, and Compressed layout of the Header could be set with a header sticky option
• Breadcrumb Options: 4 different layouts could be changed using plugins
• Sidebar Options: Sidebar sticky option with its position
• Single Post: Disabling option of feature image is provided with layout option.
• Related Posts: Post seen below the single post name and post number could be managed
• Archive Settings: List, Grid, Full, and Masonry with individual alignment options can be chosen for archive pages
• Mailchimp Subscriptions Form Section: Mailchimp could be shown the footer using the shortcode
• Latest Post Options: The grid post section seen above the footer section could be managed
• Footer: Theme Credits hiding option present in the footer section with the Footer Menu option and Footer Color Option.

Each section has multiple settings, check them all.

Covernews Widgets

Post Grid: Use the grid widget box to display your blog content in many columns.

Post Carousel:  The carousel, which comes with a plethora of different options, will assist you in looping the blog content.

Post Tab: Popular and latest posts could be shown using a tab widget.

Post Slider: You can loop posts archive using a slider widget of posts.

Post-Double column: You can be able to display the post in 2 different column 

Post-Single column: The widget, allows you to display your blog entries in a single column.

Author Post: The bio widget can assist you in displaying author information.

Social link: You can add a link to your social page from social media.

Youtube Video: You can easily add the youtube link to display the video.

Trending News: You can organize the archived posts using a carousel list of articles.
